Week of March 20, 2017

Team - What a great week! We had a lot to celebrate....Deca club, Chorus, Men's Basketball, Orchestra, all winter sports at the banquet.....and the students responding respectfully about an all spirit top week for dress code. I also want to thank everyone who are equitably enforcing the dress code.... remember.... all students, all classes.

We had another successful Professional Development session on Guided Inquiry and teachers conducting the first teacher-made benchmarks this past week. Also, I want to applaud those who are being cognizant of steps in the discipline process and managerial items that can be addressed at the door, as well as working together to find the right connection that will jump start a student towards success.  We must continue to communicate to each other to find "what works" for the students that may be giving you a difficult time. You may be surprised what your colleague may share as it relates to successful practices with one or more students.... you just need to ask.

Moving forward, please remember it is important to get those teacher recommendations in for all your students. You are recommending what you believe the next appropriate class would be after yours, AP, Honors, CP, etc. Please follow Kristy Cline's directions. You may also be involved with your department providing feedback about criteria for students to be enrolled in Honors and AP classes. you will need to review data that shows students being challenged as well as being successful to come up with this window of criteria. See Ms. Nichols if you have any questions about this.

Thank you for everything you do on a daily basis !  WE ARE...SOUTHWEST!!  Go Cowboys!
