Week of October 17, 2016

Events of the Week:
I know that last week was fun for the students and teachers with the spirit wear shirts and jeans on Friday. The majority of students did adhere to jeans without holes, but a few decided to push the issue. All in all I think it was fine. I intend to me more clear next time with our expectations. This Wednesday we will need all hands on deck to make sure that the Plan and PSAT testing goes well for our 10th and 11th grade students. Make sure that you are reading the emails that Mrs. Meier is sending out so you know where to be and what is going on for that day. Please encourage all students to come and take these assessments. We will have PD in the afternoon on Wednesday and more information will come to you about what to expect at the beginning of the week. 

This Week:
Oct. 18th
- PTSA Breakfast Morning Out at Biscuitville from 5:00 to 8:00 a.m.
Oct. 19th
- Annual Flu Shots for all Employees from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in our auditorium
- PSAT and ACT/Plan for all 11th and 10th graders
- Early Release day for at 1:35 p.m. Afternoon PD for teachers in Media Center at 1:45 p.m.
Oct. 20th
- Health Care Enrollment in Lab 1 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
- Fall Orchestra Concert in the Auditorium from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
- Students can wear purple for Suicide Prevention on this day. (It can be a Tee Shirt)
Oct. 22nd
- Saturday School in the Media Center from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

No PLCS this week due to PD on Wednesday afternoon

Reminders:
- Implicit Bias Training on November 3rd at 3:45 p.m. in the Media Center. (Mandated by GCS)
- Please make sure you are updating your grades in Powerschool weekly
- Make sure you continue to encourage all parents to complete the AdvancEd survey
- All students are required to complete their make-up time unless it has been excused. Let's be consistent.

Oct. 27th
- Fall Chorus Concert from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
- Fall Orchestra Concert in the Auditorium from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

- End of the Grading Period
- Teacher/Staff Appreciation Lunch in Lovett's Room A-106 provided by our PTSA
- PTSA Dinner Night Out at Chick-Fil-A (Palladium) All Day
