Early July message

Staff,

I hope this blog finds you all doing well!  Please enjoy your holiday weekend! A few announcements below...

Tomorrow, the Governor will announce which reopening plan to use. Please refer to the e-mail I sent you regarding plans A, B and C. Just a reminder that as a school district, we can implement a plan that is more strict, but we can not implement that is less restrictive than the Governor's plan. Once that plan is announced, the reopening task force will continue to meet multiple times a week to build the reopening plan.

From the desk of Kristy Cline:

Parent and Student Portal access for all schools have been deactivated.

When a parent or student tries to log into their account, there will be a message that will appear stating that the PowerSchool Portal is off line for the summer. The students will gain access on the 2nd day of school. The parents will have access on the 11th day of school.

(Many families have figured out how to "back door" into the system). Please understand the reason it is taken offline is due to the extraordinary amount of changes that are made to individual schedules and the overall matrix throughout the summer. Since counselors are not scheduled full time, they will maximize their time on working on schedules. Please do not request conversations about schedules until we have completed them. Thank you very much for understanding this process.

Please continue to have a great summer! You deserve every bit of it and more!  I will continue to give you updates along the way as it relates to what we should expect come school opening. As I have shared before, please be careful listening to other employees from other schools and counties. If you receive what you believe to be a "factual" e-mail, feel free to send it to me and I will check the facts of it. I promise to do my best to keep you on top of any news throughout the summer.
Thank you again!

Mr. Hettenbach
