Thank you for distributing your interim reports this past Thursday to all students regardless of their grades. Please remember that contacts to the home should always be made in advance for all students who are receiving Ds or Fs as well as for those dropping from an A to a C. Additionally, putting in a bunch of grades right before the interim does not allow parents to intervene effectively and also blindsides them on their student's performance. Please make sure you are adding your grades weekly, and that a minimum of two grades per week should be in PowerSchool.
Please communicate to all of your distribution lists about a parent session right here on SWGHS' campus regarding info on college application deadlines, Scholarships, FAFSA information, the Say Yes program, and more. This will be shared by our counselors at 5:30 PM Tuesday evening in the auditorium.
This Wednesday is an optional Teacher workday. Please make sure you fill out the proper paperwork with Mrs. Harris ahead of time.
Please take a moment to look at the IST overview that Mrs. Phillips and Mrs. Langheim mentioned in the faculty meeting. LINK
Tutorial buses start ONE WEEK from Tuesday. (Tuesday, October 15). Tutorials should run from 3:30 to 4:30. Teachers will be sent the attachment from Mrs. Ognosky for the tutorial passes. Please do not leave these out for students to take. Students MUST be on time for your tutorials in order to receive a tutorial bus pass from you on those days. Please set high expectations form the very first day. If they arrive late to your tutorial and say they came from another teacher, either a pass will be sent with them, or simply call to verify. Students should not be in the halls between 3:30 and 4:30.

It's back! The SWGHS Parent Empowerment Summit. An amazing opportunity for our community members to visit an array of sessions that will help them better navigate as a parent! Lock it down in your calendar and share it with all! Post this on your door, set up an incentive with your class so their parents attend.
