Hello Ranchers!!!

We are so close to completing the 1st semester!

Just a heads up......NCPDI Maintenance weekend is NEXT weekend, therefore, the system will be down from Friday 5PM to Monday morning.

As we head into the State Exam week, please make sure you have read the testing plan and understand your responsibilities. Students should know exactly where they are testing on their designated days. Any students that stay after the approximate 1PM testing dismissal and still need a bus ride at 3:30 will need to be communicated to Mr. Miller. 

Regarding supervision responsibilities, we still need to handle our assignments each day this coming week except for Friday. All lunch supervisors should help with monitoring the lunch room, hall and main hall upon dismissal. 

Another reminder to welcome Jeff Aguiar, our new Theatre Arts teacher. He has already started and can be found in room C109. Ms. Zulema Silva starts in the Spanish position effective Friday, January 17th (room D206). Last, Mr. Tony Spates will be on board as our new EC TA working with Mrs. Nadeau.  Please give our new staff members a big Cowboy/Cowgirl welcome!

STATE EXAMS

GRADING

All grades MUST be submitted by the end of the day Monday, January 27^th.     

    

*****English II & English III teachers may be affected with a delay in exam scores, please enter the following until the scores are in:

2^nd qtr = actual grade

Exam (E1) = INC

Final grade (F1) = INC

(hold off on giving me your score sheets until exam scores are in)

Dates to use for Exams are 1/16 & 1/17.  Or you can just enter the grade in the Grade column of the E1 term and skip creating an assignment.  Either way works.

Grade changes can be submitted after spreadsheets have been turned in.  I have attached the grade change form that has to be filled out for all grade changes. You will make the change in your gradebook but you have to give me the form to let me know what you have changed in order for me to store the grade in their historical marks.   

Students that need to make up time due to too many absences should receive an “55” under Q1 or Q2 (F1 will be the average) and use comment code:

56244- A “55” indicates the attendance policy was violated.

  

You will need to print out and give to me only the Score Sheet which is your spreadsheet with assignments, Qtr 1 & 2, Exam & Final (Follow instructions)

Don’t print out until all grades are complete.

Report cards will be printed on January 29th and will be given to students Thursday, January 30th.

Hello Ranchers!!!

Happy New Year! I wish every one of you a fantastic 

2020!

Please make sure you welcome Jeff Aguiar, our new Theatre Arts teacher. He will start immediately. Also, please welcome Ms. Zulema Silva, who starts in the Spanish position effective day 1 of the 2nd semester. Thank you to Ms. Duran, Mrs. Hagler and Mrs. Palma for filling in during the next week! Please give our new staff members a big Cowboy/Cowgirl welcome!

We only have 3 regular instructional days left followed by two teacher made exam schedule days. Thank you for finishing strong!  Let's start off the new year with the high expectations of following dress code. If students make it out of dress code to 2nd, 3rd or 4th block, please let me know. The monthly faculty meeting is still this Wednesday, however, leadership and Instructional leadership have been moved back in the month due to exams and the first day of the 2nd semester.

There are A LOT of hours in the system that have not been approved.  Teachers should be approving them at the end of each month.  Students and parents are expressing concerns because they have not been approved. Please take a moment to approve all service learning hours.

This is a gentle reminder to let the students know we only have 3 regular instructional days  before Teacher Made exams start this Thursday, January 9th. Please also share with them the modified schedule for those two days as well as the State exam days. Students, even if exempting their teacher made exam, must be present on that Thursday/Friday. If they miss it, they lose their exemption card and therefore must end up making up their exam. The next Saturday School Saturday, January 11, from 8AM - Noon. Please remind the students this is an opportunity to make up their time.
